EC Electric, Inc. is a commercial electrical contractor that’s been serving the metro Atlanta area for over 30 years. They specialize in electrical installation for tenant buildout and ground-up construction, design-build services, and comprehensive 24/7 electrical service.

EC Electric’s original website was built over 8 years ago. Their business had thrived over the years, and their site did not reflect the company’s growth and professionalism. It was time for an update! Read more about the improvements made to each page and view changes by hovering over each screen below.

Old Home Page

The existing home page was in need of a total design overhaul. While we kept their colors consistent with their logo branding, just about everything else was revamped - buttons, links, borders, and all other visual elements, along with some fresh content and images.

Updated Home Page

Luckily, the client had plenty of great, high-quality photos showcasing their recent work. This not only made my job much easier, but it's also a great way to attract new customers. The client requested a slider on the homepage to showcase their pictures as an introduction to the overall site.

The client’s main goal for their new website was to direct both new and existing clients to their service request section. To achieve this, the page was added to the nav and highlighted the button so it would stand out among the other pages. Throughout the site we included plenty of Call to Action areas to direct the user to a service/contact page.

Old About Page

For many new customers, the About page is an opportunity to establish legitimacy and confidence in the company’s area of expertise. Without much in the way of visual elements, the existing About page was not accomplishing these goals.

With many pages on the new site build having a similar layout, it was my job as the designer to add some visual variation to each page, while not distracting from the content and keeping the overall goal of the site a priority. The About page needed to make the company shine.

Updated About Page

Thankfully, Andrea gave me plenty of great new content to work with. The flow of the content she created helped me to craft a natural and unique layout for each page. The About Page was especially important, since it highlighted the history and experience of the company for prospective clients. To break up the sections within the page, I used CSS to add some shape to the columns and photos. This gave the site a bit more of a "construction" look that fits with the client's work.

Any Screen Size, Any Device

The new site was built from the very beginning with all screen sizes in mind. From phones to tablets, portrait to landscape, the new EC Electric, Inc. site is fully responsive.

Updating the site for EC Electric, Inc. is a great example of a web design project that is both challenging and rewarding. To be able to craft a site build so that it accurately reflects the company’s experience, growth, and professionalism was a huge win that the client was excited about. I was glad to be a part of it.
